Championship Links

By: Matt and Colin McDonough

With Spring Weekend here, it’s time to continue the celebration of the 2011 UConn men’s basketball team. Here are YouTube clips, granted some are very poor quality, of a Kemba Walker highlight reel, his buzzer beater against Pitt and the endings to the Big East, West Regional and National championships. As a bonus, videos from 1999 and 2004, the Huskies’ previous two championships are included as well. Note: The Daily Campus does not own the rights to the videos.

From a Husky to a Lynx…

Maya Moore didn’t have to make a long journey to be deemed #1.  In Bristol, CT, Moore was the overall pick. No surprise there.

The WNBA draft took place at ESPN headquarters for the first time ever. It was here that the Minnesota Lynx drafted Moore and #4 pick Amber Harris (Xavier)

Teammtes Kelly Faris, Caroline Doty, and Tiffany Hayes were there to support her, as well as her mother and sister.

She’s been busy since the draft, chatting live on ESPN.com, and talking with hosts Mike and Mike this morning. Now she heads off to Minny (as her newly-established twitter reads) to check out her future.

I’m not quite sure any of us are ready for her time as a husky to be part of the past…

We Are Under Construction

The site may look a little rough for a couple weeks while we get everything in order, particularly the banner image. We appreciate your patience while we work out the kinks. In the meantime, we'll do our best to make the blog worth reading. Thank you. ~Mac
