Mac Cerullo

Mac Cerullo is a junior who joined The Daily Campus as a freshman in the fall of 2008, and during his time at the paper, he has covered a wide range of sports at UConn. He currently covers football and men’s basketball, and he previously covered baseball, women’s hockey, women’s soccer, softball, men’s track and golf. In 2009, he helped cover the football team’s pro day, and recently he traveled to Arizona to cover the 2011 Fiesta Bowl. In addition to his work as a beat writer, he also writes a weekly column. Matt McDonough
Associate Sports Editor

Matt McDonough, along with his twin brother Colin, is a junior who joined The Daily Campus as a freshman in the fall of 2008. Since then, Matt has become one of the most prolific writers for the paper, having filed more stories than any other writer currently serving in the D.C. Sports Department. Matt currently covers men’s basketball, and he has previously covered men’s soccer, baseball, men’s hockey, women’s soccer, tennis and cross country. He also writes a weekly column, and recently traveled to Arizona to cover the 2011 Fiesta Bowl. Matt is a journalism major who lives in Hamden, Conn. when not at school. Colin McDonough
Senior Staff Writer

Colin McDonough, along with his twin brother Matt, is a junior who joined The Daily Campus as a freshman in the fall of 2008. Colin is one of the paper’s more colorful personalities and has left his mark all over the UConn sports landscape. Colin currently covers football and women’s basketball, and he has also covered men’s hockey, field hockey, tennis and cross country. In addition, he writes a weekly column, and he also traveled to Arizona to cover the 2011 Fiesta Bowl. Like his brother, Colin is a journalism major who is from Hamden, Conn. Russell Blair
Managing Editor

Russell Blair is among the senior members of the entire paper, being one of the few seniors at The Daily Campus who has been a part of the paper since his freshman year. Though his involvement in the sports section has diminished somewhat since his promotion to Managing Editor, he is still involved in a lot of behind the scenes work, and continues to write a weekly column for the section. Last year, Russell spent the majority of his time covering the football team, including the immediate aftermath and subsequent events surrounding the death of Jasper Howard. Andrew Callahan
Staff Writer

Andrew Callahan is a sophomore who joined the The Daily Campus as a freshman in 2009 and has quickly risen through the paper’s ranks. He currently covers the women’s basketball team and since joining the paper he has also covered women’s soccer, softball, and women’s hockey. He also writes an NFL Column for the paper, and this past fall he traveled to Boston to cover the women’s soccer team’s NCAA tournament game against Hofstra. John Shevchuk

John Shevchuk is a sophomore who joined The Daily Campus in the fall of 2009 as a freshman and made an immediate impact on the staff, being promoted shortly after his hire. John is currently covering the men’s hockey team, and has previously covered the men’s soccer, softball and field hockey. Dan Agabiti

Dan Agabiti is a sophomore who joined The Daily Campus as a freshman in 2009 and has been among the most dedicated writers on the staff since his arrival. Dan currently covers women’s hockey and has previously covered women’s soccer, golf, swimming and diving and tennis in addition to extensive behind the scenes production work.
