1:39 p.m. UConn strikes first. Andrew Olson scores with 32 seconds left in the period on an assist by Justin Hernandez and Miles Winter.
1:42 p.m. UConn leads Sacred Heart 1-0 after one period at the ‘Rent. UConn goalie Garrett Bartus, who leads the nation in saves with 859, has been busy with 17 saves thus far.
2:11 p.m. Sacred Heart powerplay goal evens the score at 1-1. Matt Gingera assisted by Patrick Knowlton at the 12:23 mark.
2:12 p.m. UConn answers back with a goal by Cole Schneider only 60 seconds later. Huskies back on top, 2-1.
2:26 p.m. The dust clears after a crazy second period and UConn heads to the locker room with a 2-1 lead. A great atmosphere on hand today for what is shaping up to be a great game.
2:48 p.m. UConn’s Scheider tacks on his second goal of the game, extends Huskies lead to 3-1.
